Would anyone be interested in adding a Hammond-type solo to this?

Boy, this is fun.

Yay! Let the mocking and laughter begin! Pedullist on an instrument he can't really play...hoorah! :) (I love it)

Let me start off by saying: 'you're 100% right Tom, I suck....especially at soloing, and especially on keyboards'. LOL :D

Look, I play the organ with 3 or 4 (occasionally 5 or 6) fingers (thumb index right, thumb index left), it looks even sillier than it sounds. Like I've said repeatedly: yay for computers...they fix every keyboardpart for me (ok, lately I can play chords without editing  :) - Van Jou Een Vrouw for instance wasn't edited - that's pretty cool)

But this time I didn't quantize or edit it. Khomp didn't either. This is rrrrrraaaaaaaaw Pedullist. Hence the loose/tight problems...

Dafduc, don't be nervous. As you can see, I'm not an organist either. But music should be fun. Collabs like these are fun.

And Ralph (Flat-9) is a very nice, kind and motivating man.

Now let's hear that SLuiCE violin solo! (or nose flute?)

I'm like doing Grade 7 style piano..... I can have a go using me old MIDI keyboard if you want :)
I like Pedullists though

:D

I LOVE THIS SONG

Nice tune, I really like the vocal presence.
There's something real warm about the eq across this tune that I wish I could get happenning in my mixes. Maybe it's the real bass.

"I did pan the bass to the right is this bad?"
I'm no authority, but no.

Thanks daf, Canopus, Doug.

It would be neat if I could make this song like a late night talk show.. you know each week I can have a guest appearance on keyboards "Appearing tonight on the Conan show!". I'm interested to hear the different styles people would bring, when presented with the same set of parameters.

Thanks Doug, i have tons of crappy mixes i probably got lucky here. In this one I did a lot more cutting of eq ranges than I'd done previously, I'm definitely going to explore that further.

Well I'm always here :D (Well not always.... only 23 hours a day)

This is a fine piece of music!

Great depressing & remorseful feel to it !!!! I felt myself reflecting climbing within myself for a good look!!!...... EXCELLENT evoking of your listeners! Extremely plaintive....... cool!

Nice vocals, man! In fact, nice everything! Esp the bass line.

Mixwise, I think its quite middy and personally need more "U" on the graphic EQ.......then, de-ess it!

TJARKO!!!!! You are truly a jack of all trades.....Nice job for a bass player!!!!NO, screw that, you are much more than merely a bass player......you are an excellent musician & composer who just happens to have bass as his forte!!!!

YAY! See Ped you did fine, Ralph says so. Thank you flat, my eq learning process continues. I keep seeing "de-ess" im assuming this means trying to remove 's' sounds (sibilance?) from the vox tracks? Is this a function/effect or an eq/level technique? I tried dipping volume envelopes on a few that seemed to help somewhat.

Aw, you! ;)

Stop flattering me! :D

ROFL....

Weird qualities to have, btw. ;)

*wonders when the flaming starts*

I'm giving this one last bump.

I'm wondering if everyone had a chance to catch the new Pedullist hammond solo, there were only 3 responses after that.

Feel free to fire away. If not well, I'll catch ya later.

you should start a fresh thread for this..

really cool song.. I really like those background vocals drenched in reverb.. It gives it a real classic sound.. There were a few vocal things that sounded a bit strange, but I liked them for the most part.. The drums had some weirdness in a spot or two also.. almost like they slipped in timing for a quick second.. cool hammond solo.. Was it real or a synth? good harp sound too.. nice use of reverbs..

good tune! Love those backup vocals..

This one slipped under my radar somehow.

Glad I found it though.;) This is a cool tune.

There's some space issues in here that I would normally nit-pick, but in the context of this song they work quite well. Gives it a very unique feel.

Nice solo there, Pedullist. Very tastefully done.:)

Good job guys!

Thanks guys!

I really think this is one of the most awesome things Khompy has recorded yet...(can't stop saying it) :)

The hammond was a soundfont [spam](Sonic Implants)[/spam]

Thanks Sab. Yeah since the drums were canned I was chopping up the samples and shifting them around slightly just to give them "humanistic" errors. Don't know if that helped or not but ya gotta try.

Thank you MBrane, you should hit me with the spacing comments anyway maybe pm or something. I'd be interested to know what you would've been expecting. I'm still making lots of guesses and I would just like to know.

Hi Ped.. :]
