cool!

that kicked ass..

it's strange hearing you sing this style, but I like it.. the vocal sounded a bit mid-rangey at times, but nothing major..

good tunes!

Hi fi's not working?

I downloaded it,definitly worth it!

I liked it the first time around,SLuiCe's vocals and lyrics really make it shine!

Great job,very cool!

Pete

no, I still haven't heard it. Well, I sort of did. I had a friend hold the phone up to his computer speakers! Couldn't really make it out, though.

You should get your friend to burn a cd of it for you. At least you'll know if I ruined your song or not!

Just so everyone knows when they're discussing the mix...This was done by Mbuster posting his MP3 track to NWR at 320k. I downloaded it, loaded it into Sonar, recorded vocals, and then posted it on NWR at 256k. There's probably some degradation there, but it was just too much fun to pass up. I think he wants to put a solo in there, so I'll have to cut out some vox maybe (or maybe they'll blend well...). Anyway, my thanks to Mark for letting me try this one out. Very cool guitar riffs! If when you do hear this, you decide you don't like it, I'll not be the least bit offended if you cut my parts out and take it in a different direction. It's all fun!

Oh I love this! This is cool all the way around.

hey SLuiCe, I almost missed this.. You should have sent word!

this is a good tune, and your peoples need to know about it!

holmes! :D

energy....

....reminds me of the late 80's or something, but more "in your face"... guess it's the mix of that reverb, plus the aggressive guits...

Tom, your vocals get better every time you sing... fess up... you got a coach, didn't ya? :D (Not BS'in you... there's "more" in your voice; more "body"... less "nasal"...)

Mark, this song has potential IMO... something 'bout the drums (kick & snare) sounds too hyped in the highs, or something... otherwise, great tight performance... the reverb on the vox is something that takes getting used to, but it's by all means not bad... maybe some MEAT into the guitar sound would make it grind a bit heavier...

Some kind of soaring, synth thing soaring above the vox on the second chorus might add a little something to the song... like a smooth pitch bend... thing... (uh... REALLY getting technical now  :D)

Cool collab

LOVE these collabs!!! :D:D
This is too cool, good vocals Sluice. It's cool how you fit your vocals around the kicks in the timing. Rockin' tune too.
Who wrote the vocals and the line? SluiCe or Buster?
The sounds not bad even though it was all MP3 and I liked the guitar sound quite a bit.
Collabs, collabs, collabs.........you just can't say it without grinning.

Hi guys, Mark seems to be absent so I'll try and respond with my morning red-eyes. Actually I don't think he's heard it because he has no sound card.

This is really no way to do a collab, but it was just such a rocking riff, and I don't think I've done any singing like that so I wanted to try it out.

I basically just took his MP3 and fit some lyrics and melody into- the same as I did with Jeff Marcomb's tune. The arrangements were both very simple, so that helps. What made this one fun is getting the vocal tight with the rhythm section. As you might imagine, the synchopation kinda challenges limits the vocal options- stray a little and it's a big mess!

As for the verb, by the time I heard this on another system, I had already give him the MP3. I agree there's a bit too much of it. I had no mixing control of the other instruments, so it was a little harder than usually for me to get vocals to sit right. I almost was going to go dry on this, but this one just seemed to have rock arena written all over it :D

I'm glad you guys still dug it...I hope mbuster actually likes it too cuz it was fun.

SLuiCe, I know what you mean. I'd love to have a shot at mixing all of this myself. With the vocals, this could be HUGE. Again, great job, both of you guys.

I'm here, I'm here! I'm getting a copy burnt for me. Anyway, Tom, I'm working on that solo and cleaning up a few things eq-wise, I'll send you a cd of it if you want and we'll finish this thing off.

sounds good man. Send me just the instruments on CD, then I'll add the vocals to the higher quality copy. Also that way I could deal with any clashing between the vocals and the solo for ya, and I could send you a final CD. Whatever works for you. Good fun man...thanks.

Awesome. This is so cool. I haven't "jammed" with another musician in over a year. I was pretty nervous about putting my tune up for all to hear, and am psyched I found someone to help me rock it out a bit. I should finish up my ammendments so to speak this weekend. PM or E-mail me where to send the CD.
Thanks for the effort, man. This is sweet.

O.K. . Tom, I finally heard it! Awesome. Although we definitely lost some sound quality with our round-about methods. I'll be sending you a CD real soon. I think I'll drop a couple other tunes on there, too, in case you get bored or anything.
