I really have to wonder if he really never took it out of the wrapper?

I bought my 244 brand new back in the early 80's and I don't remember the plastic liner bag looking like the one in the picture.

Perhaps this is just a new angle on worning out of saying that it doesn't actually work?

Cheers! :)

If this in fact is new, untouched, then it has my attention! Now, where is that damn drool smiley!!:D:D;);)

The more I look at that picture of the bag, the more I feel something is amiss here!

The bag first off, is upside down and has fold seams in it that are not in character with the original factory bags which I believe were seamless and folded over to one side of the Portastudio.

I'm a bit of an original packing freak because of my job, repacking equipment on many occasions when we're selling off the floor model of a piece of gear and need to repack it as new.

I really think the seller is just being clever here and using the sealed bag story as a means of selling the unit while playing dumb as to its condition.

But, what do I know.

Cheers! :)

If she would buy me "stuff"..I would take a wife too...:D

The story does sound a little funny...but you never know.

Why didn't the guy ever take it out of the box and use it, if his wife bought it for him...?

I was thinking the same thing about the bag. I can't think of much of anything that would have that type of bag for original packing. Somebody message him and tell him to sell it for parts at a reduced price.:D

Yup, I got mine new in early 80-something too. Problem is I don’t remember what the plastic looked like, but I must confess I unwrapped it so fast… kinda like I would this guy’s wife’s sister (of course she wouldn’t be wrapped in plastic… eh, I dunno, maybe she would… you never know).

Life is funny I’ve never met his wife’s sister and don’t even know if she has a sister (or if he has a wife), but I feel like I’ve known her all my life. There’s definitely a, “Radar love” thang happening here. I just hope she feels the same way, whether she exists or not.

(we need more emoticons) :p

Its to bad he didnt include a pic of the cord. That would help.
