With consideration to my room: which mic should I buy?

I am planning on buying a Studio Projects C1 for male vocals, but I'm worried that it will not sound very good because my room isn't sound-proofed. Would an SM58 be a better option considering this, or would the C1 probably still perform better? I understand that it is not a black-and-white question.

I think an effective, quick, and cheap solution is to drape a few heavy blankets over microphone stands set up as a "T". Surround yourself with them as you track thereby making an improvised isolation booth. I've used it before and found it helpful. But no doubt, the better the room the better the recordings.
