Wiring issue: How would I

I have a Harmony-G XT voice processing / effects unit. The way this piece works it that you route your mic and guitar into the box. The rig listens to the music coming in and based off of that makes some decisions related to voice processing. Now the input doesn't have to be a guitar most any music source can work but it has to come in via a standard 1/4" jack that you'd use on a guitar.

What I would like to do is because some of my stuff is strictly acoustic, so what I would like to do is record it and then play back though this 1/4 jack to provide the music feed for the vocal processing. Can I simply go from a speaker or headphone out to that 1/4" input on the the Harmony or will I need to do something else to rout the recording though the Harmony-G XT?

Speaker out.. is a relatively high voltage source, so definitely not a good idea.
What are you recording with? What you are looking for is perhaps a line out that you can control to lower it's output as needed to keep the 1/4" input from overloading. Or if the box has a level control for that input (?) then it might be fine straight in.

If you had a Radial reamp box, or their JDI direct box which can also be run in reverse....those would allow you to take the line level and convert to guitar/instrument level for you, and with the correct impedances.

Well you can use the harmony as a DI but i'm not so sure with the way it handles singles if it would work in reverse. Now it does have an input balance pot that I could dial back the instrument in. Maybe I will fire the question by the manufacture and see what they can tell me. Surely must be a way to do it....thanks gang!

There is....it's in the previous posts. :)
If you mean with just what you already have available....that you'll have to research and find out.

Not all DIs will do the "reverse trick" and also give you some decent signal to work with....worst case, you can try it and see what you get.
The reamp boxes most certainly will work (that's what they are design for)...and some DI boxes, like the JDI mentioned earlier.

I did find some reamp boxes that were DIY projects that look pretty simple to make. If TC Helcon doesn't suggest plugging straight in I will prob build a reamp specifically for this. Looked like about 20-30 dollars in parts is all.

....Learning more and more...thanks...

I really doubt you need to get side tracked to D/I's and re-amps'. Just keep the level down.
Noticed the 'specs said the mic input has an adjustable sensitivity range (the input control?), but the inst. in (apparently) is fixed - "Instrument In Sensitivity: +15dBu @ 0dBFS"
