I have tried a few and have settled with the Sennheiser RS-60's. They have been replaced by the RS-65's. Anyway they are RF which is what you want unless you will be staying in the same room with them. Infrared is what your TV remote uses. I use them for recording vocals in another room of my house. That way I only have to have a 30 foot mic cable run into the other room and can monitor the tracks with the phones. I also use them when I do yard work (nude of course). They are cool. The sennheiser's come with two battery packs that are both charged at the same time on one base station. If one goes out, (About 4 hours) then you switch to the other). As far as latency issues, I have not noticed any. They are light as hell and I often forget that I am wearing them. They also have a volume control and on/off switch on the side of them. The RS-85 is the top of the line. But for the price and what I use them for, I went with the 60's . Hope that helps.
