I have a sure wireless mic. Those little one's that clip on. The mic has a wire that goes to the wireless transmitter and it looks like a mini XLR wire. I was wondering if this little mic can be used with out the wireless transmitter and with an adaptor be plugged into a mixer?
Its this little guy

Why not call the folks at Shure? They have all kinds of lavalier stuff.

I bet there is a way to do it, but it might have some phantom power limitations - such as being happy with +15 V but not with +48 V power.

BTW - I just got a neat thing from DPA - cost me all of five bucks. It's a rubber mount to use with a fiddle and it fits my Sennheiser lavalier mic well. The two "legs" are soft rubber and clip to the strings between the bridge and the tailpiece - it fits either over or under the strings, depending on the sound and the "stealth" that is needed. Over the strings yields a more full sound. The little leg in the middle will hold the lavalier securely by its wire. Simple and pretty cool.

You could also use it to mic a mandolin and I'm goiing to try it on my resonator guitar.

I know I saw this mic advertised with a XLR adaptor. I was wondering of it did anything to reduce the voltage or if iy just runs on 48 cause I can just make out of and old cord. but I dont want to burn it if the is adaptor does something special. Oh and the reason I want to rig this is that I dont have the receiver. and Ive looked this unit up and Its noy cheap. Then again this mic is not cheap either. I've seen this mic for like $230 new.
