And when i go into device manager my second hard drive shows up under the "hard disk drives"
Maybe try showing Windows a photo of the Hard Drive?Nick said:***Windows not reckognizing Hard Drive???***
Mindset said:Here do this...
go to control panel
then Administrative Tools
then to Computer Management
then on the window that pops up
Click on Disk Management.
Since it's in your device manager, I have a feeling it's not totally formated/partitioned correctly.
Anyways back to the steps...
On the disk management part, it will show you your hard drives
in the second half of the window, it says something like
Disk 0 - (your hard drive name) (C, NTFS or FAT, and should also say Healthy (system) also probably will say Disk 1 for your second drive.
there should be your second hard drive in there too.
Right click on the little white bar with that info in it.
A menu should pop up of course, that'll say Open, Explorer, Mark Partition as Active etc... If it's partitioned, format the drive, assign a drive letter & all that. It SHOULD show up now....
If not, I'll have to get the motherboard model, which is usually printed on the motherboard itself.
Also, is the second drive fresh & brand new?? I just saw a post earlier that you said it didn't show up in there either (the steps I mentioned).
I believe that you may need to reformat & repartition that drive to get it working. I'm not sure in your case, but in every case that it does something like what your mentioning, it's because the second hard drive file system is still native to the original OS system.
