has anybody had this problem with n tracks, i run a computer with windows 98 version 1 in on my studio computer and it has never failed, but my new computer in the house has 98 second edition on it and N-tracks won't fire up and crashes.
It's a pain in the ass....But all other audio softwere dose not have any problems on the computer the only thing that is not the same is windows 98.

I can tell you that I use Win 98se and have all kinds of problems with n-track versions after 3.0.4. I've loaded 3.1.7 and it's horrendous. After about 15 minutes of working in n-track the interface gets all wacked out, the midi grows unresponsive, I have to turn off my keyboard and turn it back on after each time I play midi...

I'm using it anyway right now because I really need the "randomize" feature, but what a headache.

I have always had better luck with n-Track on an NT operating system (NT4, Win2k, XP), and have heard from many others who agree. Doesn't help you out much, I know :(

I've got w98se on my pc and n-Track v3.0 runs like a champ w/the ASIO drivers for my c-port.

Yes, 3.0 runs much better but lacks the randomize controls. I'll probably go back to 3.0 for DA and use PowerTools free for midi.

One thing I noticed is that when I export the randomized midi from 3.1.7 and imported it into 3.0.4 it lost all of the randomization and quantized everything back to strict timing.

Sigh.
