will this work for sound absorbtion?

there is a problem. Stuff like that does not absorb low frequencies, only highs. Basically, that stuff will suck all of the highs out of your booth, leaving the lows for the mic to pic up. It will make is sound like you are in a cardboard box. Check out http://realtraps.com/facts.htm for some more info.
 
really? well damn im glad i didnt buy it then... and by "Stuff like that" you mean what?
 
so called "studio foam" or "eggcrate foam" usually dont perform well at low frequencies.
 
if you look at the auction they also make supposed bass traps..

The key word is supposed. They don't work. Some foam corners will help a little at upper bass frequencies, but I measured corner foam from Foam By Mail and found it absorbed only one third what they claimed. What they sell is cheap foam that's not even real acoustic foam, and it appears they stole the data numbers from Auralex.
