I don't think so. Looks like those are only for PT. Cubase Supports VST and DX plugs.

Not to be redundant, but Pro Tools will NOT run without a digi-compatible interface - LE or TDM. ProTools free will run on OS9 on the mac, not sure about PC, but it is pretty much worthless.

When you say the Bomb factory plugins....are you refferring to the BF compressor emulations? If so, forget about BF and just go get a UAD1. The general consensus there is that the UAD does a MUCH better job with the 1176 and La2a. not to mention you get Pultec EQ, can get the Fairchild 670, the plate 240 etc....:D

why would u want to use it with out the digidesign gear?

danny

I do believe the new Pro Tools and most pro tools plugins use iLok Usb keys now to prevent pirate copies... most of the plugins also must have valid licences on the key to run... Licences are managed online, and are SSL encrypted so short of being in the FBI they are prolly hard to copy..

In other words.. interface or not now, you may still need the licence

that's true for a lot of the newer plugins that are out...but not for the actual Pro Tools software. Hardware is all that is required (plus a valid Serial number)

The mac version of protools free only works up to OS9 no OSX support.
Yea, I remember now. Wouldn't work using classic either.

No iLok for Pro-tools, but I need it to run the Mach5 sampler plug in. Since Pro-tools cannot be used without one of their interfaces, there is no reason for an iLok.

Noted, musta read it wrong there...

Seems like a good anti-piracy method either way... plugins are all to easy to find lying around on the net, and they are mostly just small applets...
