From experience I know that the more track width and speed, the more sound frequencies can be put onto tape yielding better resolution etc but I'd be interested in ALL the benefits of WIDER TRACKS and HIGHER SPEED, not only in audio reproduction but recording as well.
Can someone please give the FINAL word on what exactly benefits having WIDER tracks and HIGHER speed ? I'd love to know the TECH answer to this.
1. WIDER TRACKS are responsible for what characteristics of analog tape sound and recording ?
2. HIGHER SPEED is responsible for what characteristics of analog tape sound and recording ?
THANKS!
Daniel
