Hey All,
EL34 had posted a guitar only version of Wicked Game a while ago which I was really impressed with and inspired me to try and lay down some vocals over top of it. He sent me the backing tracks and I used them to come up with this mix when I adeded my lead and backing vocals.
Feel free to comment on any aspect of the song, tracking, vocals, mix, etc.
I am really interested in hearing feedback on: volume levels and the effects/mix. I am trying to learn how to use my equipment and software better and every song I put out there I learn from. Thanks again for all the past advice and criticism I have received. It only makes me better
One note on this is that I added a lot more reverb to the vox than I usually do. The reason for this is because after listening to the original, I noticed that Chris Isaak seems to have it buried in reverb, so I wanted to try and get it closer sounding to the original.
Thanks again EL34 for the great guitar work and letting me sing over top of your mix
Anyways, here is my take on it, enjoy:
