why will this program not loop

i want to loop a sound so i press non "distructive editing""control c" i want it at the end of the preexisting wave file (that i copied) so i press "control V shift" and the wave goes to a new track...

so i press "cont v" and ...

nothing happens nothing changes whatsoever it just gives me a dialog box with "pasting clipboard" or something another...

then nothing....

i have read all the treads on this page dealing with looping and the user manuel help file on looping in Ntrack...

in the help file it says "if SHIFT is pressed and held, the program automatically puts the new reference to the wave file in the same track as the copied part with the offset equal to the former end of the track, so that there will be no gap in playback..."

doesnt this mean you can loop one wave file the entire length of the song???

Yes, although you may need to make some adjustments to your offsets. Shift-Ctrl-V

no when i press shift-ctrl-v it goes to a new track...

when i press ctrl-v it shows the dialog box of pasting from the clipboard, but nothing happens...

what is an offset and how do you adjust them? i looked in the index of the help file, but it wasnt there

Then something is wrong. If you have something already on the clipboard (Ctrl-C), then Shift-Ctrl-V should put that clipboard content at the end of the selected track.
Until you figure that out, you can also drag track parts between tracks. Left click on a track part (holding the left mouse button down) and drag it to its desired track.

Offsets in this context : when you get the Shift-Ctrl-V to work properly, it will add and 'join' the track part together. You'll see this via a little purple circle between the track parts. The offsets will not automatically be lined-up. You may need to adjust the distance between those two newly joined parts. For example, if you have a click track that you trying to extend, and there is 1 second between clicks, you are not garaunteed a 1 second gap when you paste to the end of that original click track. you'll need to manually adjust it to be 1 second...I just do it by ear.

maybe it s the new program, im running 4.1.5 anyone else running this version?
