Why is it microphones on television allways have electrical tape over the brand name.

Has anyone noticed this? when someone is doing studio work on television the name brand of the microphone is never visible.

When I see someone in the studio on Television I sometimes look at what equipment they use and I have never seen the brand name of a microphone displayed ever. Am I Insane? or has anyone else noticed this?

Common practice with some shows - they don't wanna give any manufacturers free advertising. You'll see mic names, guitar names and amplifier names covered over on a lot of shows - other shows don't really care.

I kind of thought that. You would think that the manufacturers would even give their mics to them to get thier pictures taken with the artists.
