Why have I got no plug in option

I'm using Cubase 4 and plan to use Amplitube 3 as a plug in. On SX3 I used to right click on my guitar audio tracks then select the plug in option and pick amplitube.

But now when i right click the plug in option isn't there. Whats going on?

select it as an insert.

Or were you talking about printing it to the track (offline process)?

I think i was talking about printing it to the track. Before i would record the parts clean then process, but on this version of cubase I don't sem able to do that.

I have tried as you suggested selecting it as an insert and this posed some other problems.

I am recording guitar via M-audio USB fast track (making use of its ASIO) and despite having the most up to date drivers i can get, it won't work with amplitube either in the DAW, or stand alone, and it seems I'm not the only person to have this problem.

I used your guide to setting up ezdrummer on Cubase and can i just say that was great. Would very much like to hear your thoughts on this problem.
 
Does it show up as an option under process? Skipped version 4, my only experience was with LE 4 (and there is no offline plug in processing in that version).

I don't use amplitube so I'm not entirely to much help here.
 
I use Cubase Essential 4 and POD Farm. I use POD Farm as an Insert. After selecting it the GUI displays where I can make changes.

Honestly, I don't even know what "offline processing" is.:o
 
Well, I have no idea why 4 doesn't look like this but I have all my plugins available.

There is offline processing in other versions of cubase, but you can only do it with processing like Normalize, Pitch etc...

Only the full version of cubase can process audio like this. It's basically a rendering of the audio through plugins so the effect is added right to the source material itself.

My machine is so beefy, I never do it personally for anything other than pitch effects (like a bass drop, pitching that so it sweeps down in frequency).
 
OH DUH. The answer is staring me in the face on your screenshot.

STUDIO does not have offline processing for plugins, you need the full version of 4 or 5 for that. SX was the equivalent of 4 and 5, SL was the equivalent of studio.

Your going to have to just stick with the insert method. If your computer isn't handling it well then freeze the track.
