I couldn't find any flat cases with power supply for less than $100.

Whats up with that???

I tried newegg and price watch.

Any suggestions for the bestest deals????

1. Are you talking about the big ones that sit under the monitor?

2. Why do you want one of those as opposed to a tower that could sit on the floor?

Yes.....and......

....I would eventually like to have a more portable computer recording rig......guerilla recording so-to-speak.
...and the less stuff on the floor the better.....kicks and cable trips etc.

A flat case is more compact and might fit into a gig-rig nicer, shorter cable runs, etc.

Also the desk I have now is made for the computer (tower) to sit on the left but is down low and its will be hard to put a door on that side (for sound dampening) because my keyboards and other stuff are on that side.
I also built a hanging mixer mount that I have to reach around to get to it.

NOW on the right side of my desk is a deep shelf space that would be perfect for a flat case (I've tested it with our old, old computer) , would be easy to put a sliding or hinged door, is about hip level when seated and is easily within reach.

Hmm,

Well my assumption would be that the flat cases are more expensive because nobody really uses them anymore...
I would just get a regular tower case and lay it on its side. The only problem i would foresee would be the CDROM drive, but most drives have ridges around where you put the CD in so that you can turn it sideways and not have any problems.

Otherwise, maybe you could look into a rackmount computer case...I thought about that option, as portability would be a breeze with an SKB rack case or something.

just a few thoughts

you could try a used place. They often have both rackmount and desktop cases for cheap.

Yeah I guess rackmountable would be the most versital.

I will definitely chech some of the computer shops in the area.

Thanks
