What´s with all those "who/what is the best"-stuff of you today?
This is going to turn out in a discussion about colors anyway.
What´s the best? Colors or colours?

Who the F*CK is Jimi Paige???

I think that is that black guy on that Trading Spaces TV show!!!

Apparently he formed a band called Zepp, or Led Zeplin, or Stairway to heven, with a guy named Rhobert or Rob or Roburt Plant, who inflenched all bands that came after and before them, for all of history. There popularity arise from black magic and witchcraft. They had a powerfull rithem section, John Bonnem on durms and John Jones on base. Thay are the gratest.

All spellings courtesy of the internet.

p.s. in terms of having vision of the power of music Hendrix and Page are almost equals, IMHO.

Look at the question you're answering.

Who do think is the best guitarist??

SRV, IMHO.

In terms of musical depth of their playing, SRV is way behind the rest of this crowd. He's like an idiot savant.

None of them wail like Fred Durst. Somebody put that link up again (the one with Fred blasting out the most egregiously passionate solo in history.) Yep. Everyone smokes pole compared to Fred.

I had to go SRV. It was close between Hendrix and him, but Stevie is the only one who I just sit in awe of everytime I see a clip of him playing.

I remember listening to 'The Sky is Crying' and 'From the Cradle' back to back, and I was struck by the fact that I preferred Clapton's playing. When Clapton is in the mood, he's a damn good blues player.

I've known a number of non-famous guitarists who could do what SRV did. He's alright, but for originality and influence, I'd go with Page over SRV, and Hendrix over Page.

Yea, how many John McClauglin imitators do you see?

I too need to thank boingo for that link. How f'n hilarious! Although, I think it is obvious that that is a Fred Durst Impersonator, as he is clearly wearing a black hat, not a red one. what a turd.

None of them are my favorite.
But I would vote for Paige.

Clapton is way too overated. But a good man, because he auctioned off his guitar collection last month for $15 million. All that for charity.

"Best" is such a vague vague term. Especially since I have yet to hear even .01% of all the guitarists out there, and the best guitarists I've heard are the ones nobody else has heard of. Each of the artists you mentioned, except for Hendrix, sport technical skill, but, in my opinion, no creativity. No heart. Just boring lines that I know exactly where they're going 3 notes into them. Hendrix, on the other hand, simply did a lot of drugs and played random (and in my opinion, crappy) riffs as a side effect of the drugs.

Next we can debate who the king of rock and roll is: The Beatles or Elvis.

But that's just my opinion.
