I bought two pairs to get a deal, if anyone wants the other pair with shockmounts and box its $305 shipped. See the for sale forum for details.

Before continuing, this thread is to remain on topic. If you dont own C4's, dont reply please.

Anyway, how is everyone doing with the C4's on overheads? Any other uses you;ve found them good on (or bad for that matter)?

Thanks.

That is a very nice price (shipped) for a new pair of C4. I paid $217 shipped, for my used/mint condition set.

Mine arrived only a few days ago, and have not yet seen a session. I will post comments when they become available.

I've only had a chance to run ONE through a minidisk (so hardly technical) but I was surprised by the quality of sound I achieved with just one OH. I really can't wait to try them out properly! :)

They are a workhorse here, especially for jazz and country overheads, classical guitar, incedental percussion, especially chimes. They are good on harp (not harmonica), good as a remote stereo pair. I used them recently to record a symphony orchestra with good results.-Richie

Cool. They should work out fine. I sold my c451b and an e609 Black to score a pair of these. But since I buy almost everything used or bicker it down, I sold both mics for about the same as I paid for them and got a good deal on the C4's, and bought an extra pair to pass along at a good price. Wanted another 451b but couldnt afford it. I have $850 worth of I-beams and OSB for the studio floor to buy right now. Damn it never ends.
Guess I'll post when I get a chance to use em!
Thanks!
Paul

I misread your original post as C42s! So when I saw your price for the pair, I was about to call my wife and tell her I was buying myself an early birthday present!!
Oh well! I have a KM184 and I love it, but I"d love to have another, or a set of C42s. Good luck with your new mics!
