I like having sigs, though I don't like sigs that have large graphics in them.
Clutters up the page and makes me have to scroll too much.You know what would be great?... to have a viewing option that would allow sigs to appear but would hide graphics in the sigs. Yet not hide graphics that are not in sigs.

What do they have there that you thought was cooler Nicole? I looked around over there in the English section and didn't see anything very appealing, no offense intended to the French guys. No doubt the French AF forums are great. I've only seen one post in a forum here by one of the AF crew suggesting thread readers also visit a related AF thread. I know there's other stuff on the page advertising AF, but I (and maybe most viewers?) tend to visually filter those out after seeing them so often.

All that is entirely possible without recoding or hacking the vBulletin script. It's already there. About 15 minutes work including the coffee.
Seriously, the size of images, number of characters, disable html etc. is already available. That is not the reason they have not been reinstated. Unless of course no one has the time to spare to click a few buttons.

yeah, they said when they turn it on, they don't want images, either, for the same reason. I hope they do it soon.

I wish I could make the changes for you, but I don't have access to that stuff. They told me it's going to happen soon.... sorry, that's all I know.
In the mean time, if there are threads that you think would make for good stickies, let MSHilarious or I know and we can help you with that.

EDIT: it appears that signatures are back on as we speak though I don't see anywhere in the user controls to create one. I just noticed your sig, Chili, and figured it was a paste-on you did to the post. But then went to my user options and turned off sigs. It disappeared.

Links and specific info in signatures are far better than sticky threads. Sticky's just sit at the top of a board and add to the scrolling time. People who need to read them never do. Same with the search function. Instead of posting "see this sticky, read the FAQ and use the search function" I'd rather just post "read my sig".
They were promised back in a few weeks about a year ago as well so Im not holding my breath.

Three things, I wasn't asked, I doubt if I was even considered and I wouldn't accept. I think I've criticised them on too many things to be asked in the first first place in any case.
I offered some help originally and have continued to offer examples of how problems can be easily handled. None of them have even been responded to.
These dudes are in it for a return. If I'm going to be asked to be a janitor, sorry moderator, cleaning up spam and mopping the floors I'd want more than a signature in return. My only interest is to keep this place at least a worthwhile place to exchange info and hang out for those that use the place.

I just call it as I see it. I find the whole thing frustrating more than anything. Sigs are a great tool and for the life of me I can't see why there should be a delay in having them back? What is going to be different this week compared to next week or last year for that matter? I guess I'm just too cynical and keep searching for another agenda.
