I have it and am running it on a newer imac into PT9HD, with no issues whatsoever. It's great bang for the buck (lots of inputs and even a 4 line level inputs on the back which bypass the preamps so you can use outboard preamps for a different color). The only things I'd complain about are the fact that the stock digital preamps (on the front) are pretty lackluster. They are digital which tome, compared to when I upgraded and bought a few outboard preamps, pales in comparison to analog. They sound a little harsher/brittler in comparison. But if you have nothing to compare it to, you wouldn't notice. Same goes if you don't have the ear for it anyways. The only other thing I'd mention is if you DO use the line level inputs on the back to go with some outboard preamps in the future or use them for when you send something out to an outboard effect like a compressor, and back in, the A/D conversion quality isn't the utmost highest quality either. Again, you wouldn't notice if you had nothing to compare to. But you get what you pay for. I'm looking to upgrade to an outboard A/D converter to daisy chain to the spdif input on tha Tascam so I can use my Tascam as simply the audio interface, but any audio that goes to my computer won't get colored from the Tascam. This for sure has the most inputs for the money.

I'd get it if you're just starting out or even if you gave an intermediate studio going. You don't need $1M worth of preamps and converters to make a great record. Don't believe in the hype and just get to work and have fun!

Good luck!

No problem at all! Isn't that what this site is intended for anyways?! :)

Some people get all caught up in arguing on here, throwing hissy fits like children, giving people unneeded negative attitude, etc. In the end, we all just want success with better recordings, right? Even the pro's are always searching for a better way to do things!

Cheers!

I have one I use to record sessions on. I have had it 18 months and have had no problems with it. I agree with Recording Master about the sound of it. But thats because like I said I use it to record jam sessions etc with to capture ideas, but when its time to record a song in earnest I switch over to a large format british analog console and record to 2" tape. Then the difference is noticeable. But then again so is the price difference, LOL.

Its a lot of bang for the buck.
