Somewhere in Space
I'm just curious, how many other people @ H.R.com own a Roland Space Echo, and what are their favorite applications, or instruments to use it on?
I am a SPACE ECHO freak,..I love 'em all!..Especially my SRE-555, RE-501 (same as sre-555) RE-301, & RE-201. I have several others, RE-101, RE-150, RE-200 (rare), ETC.,...but the SRE-555 Chorus Echo is my all time FAV.
I use it with my synths mostly, but I also use it on vocals, guitar, drums, (reverb is excellent for a HUGE drum sound)...and on some mixdowns.
I wish Roland would bring these babies back,...but it'll never happen with all the digital technology out today. I even own a couple digital space echos, the RE-3 digital space echo (which has a special tone of it's own) once used exclusively by Randy Rhodes...and the newer RE-20, which is supposed to model the famous RE-201,..but, I think it sounds nothing like the original RE-201 with TAPE. It definitely has found it's spot in my setup, though...NOTHING IS BETTER THAN TAPE!!!
