I've thought about, a few times. I've heard all the arguments. The 'try before you buy' one makes sense to me. However, it's also true that many people who try don't ever buy even though they use.

But that's not my issue with wetteke's post in this thread. Since this Cool Edit forum started, I've taken a hard line with any posts that promote piracy or praise it. If you've got a problem with that, your options are:

1 flame me

2 complain to Dragon, the site manager

3 chill out yourself

If wetteke was joking about having a cracked version, then I got the wrong end of the stick. If wetteke wasn't joking about having a cracked version, then his post was provocative.
 
Be as defensive as you like. Come up with as many crappy rationalizations for having a cracked version as you can think of.
I'm still gonna flame your sorry ass any time you mention having stolen your version of Cool Edit. And if you post anything that encourages piracy in any way, I'll delete your posts. I'm not going to allow anything in this forum that jeopardizes the integrity of this site; I'm not going to allow anything whereby somebody can say this forum condones software piracy.

Not only that, but if people steal it and the Cool Edit team don't get that monetary support, that puts the price up for people like me. That pisses me off. Then I have to read bullshit rationalizations from people who pirate it, and it pisses me off even more. So I flame pirates. I flame you. Simple.

It works like this: Cool Edit's a really useful piece of software put together by a team of people who care about the quality of their product. That deserves monetary support. Got it figured out yet?
