Bring Back Transfat!
guitar pieces?

Not just solos, but seriously mind-boggling riffs, chord transitions, and melodies.

Oh here it comes..I can hardy wait!

Produce monkey! :D

My '76 classic, "Eera's Dance" used a formula borrowed from, MO's. "Dance of the Maya" but was far more complicated.

The tune is based on the way 7 goes into 98. Among other things. :D

The main 98 beat construct is made up of 4 bars of 15/8 and 2 bars of 19/8.

But there are complications where the 98 slips around.

I confess.....

He's just this guy I'd heard of. You're probably too young to understand.

Holy f@ck, I just noticed you're 54!

Man...four years to go and I'm doomed! Oh the humanity! :D

You musta meant this guy...

Two to think about. I like John Maclaughlin too, but in small doses... too many notes per second and a lot of its noodling from my point of view.

Both the above wrote interesting, complex songs that work in their entirety...

Just ignore the '70s, he played quite tastefully after that.

Read the OP. John fits that bill. He was sometimes quite musical besides.

Did he? I'll have to check him out.. I only have Birds of Fire... nice, when I'm in the mood... but sometimes it's like nails on a blackboard...

Any recommendations?

Dunno the records, I just saw him live. Good stuff, and he refused to shred.
