well guys, I`m older than older than the bluebear and I like a lot of stuff. I dislike a lot of stuff as well. But that doesn`t have a damn thing to do with how much talent the one like or I don`t like has. I found over time that what we hear from an artist never really reflects the volume of talent they have, only reflects a segment of what they may have chosen to reveal and we respond according to familiarity and whether we are stroked byemotional connections to the piece.
I feel, and I feel that there are others that feel the same way, that a judgement as to who has the most "talent" is simply a piss in the wind as far as any reasonable logic is concerned. A logical comparison between stylists following a protocal would be more realistic.
i.e.. "Mikes rythym seems more defined than Bubba`s to me"
or "Jimmy bends his strings further up at the 17th fret more than Eric does and I like it better".
Not "Mike aint as talented as Bubba, or Jimmy can`t fit the bill against Eric."
I like Steve Morse and Larry Carlton better than I do Steve Lukather and that guitar player from Korn, but who walking this earth could possibly know the top-out-end of their talent? Nobody
If we fogies piss you off it surely isnt intended, it`s just...guess what? we been there too, and are past it and only hope to leave some shortcuts to wisdom when we can. Sometimes it just dont pan out, but thats they way of the world...jus keep Rockin!!! its all good!
