Just another guy, really.
I have, but only a bit.

10 years or so back, I happened to have bought a Westone Thunder 1A at a pawn shop, and a brand new Epiphone LesPaul Deluxe at Guitar Center. Loved the Epi's look, but at $500, I couldn't help thinking I had made an expensive impulse buy. So, I put aside a Saturday afternoon, without distractions, and went back and forth, from one to the other, to decide what to keep. I concluded they both made good sounds, but the Westone made at least as good sounds as the Eip, plus it's active electronics and coil tap/split functions made it much more versitle- so the Epi went back before the 30-dar return period was up.

Recently, I bought a Epi LP Standard, changed the pups to Alenco Burstbucker V's, and tried again. This time, I also had a Westbury to compare. All three are 2-HB-equipped, solid bodies, etc.- same basic design. Let's limit our discussion to guitars thus configured.

I am not going to report my results here- I want to know YOUR experiences. And, please, make note of the word EXPERIENCE there- as in, experience with these guitars. OPINIONS that one or the other is absoloute crap or is guitardom's greatest undiscovered bargain/tone machine, etc. is of no use to me, whatsoever. Maintain some objectivity, here, or stay the hell out of my thread. Thanks.
