Voice sounds pretty good now Ray. I didn't feel the cello overpowering anything. The acoustics still have a kind of a jingle-jangely sound to them. On the whole a better quality than the first version.

Not bad buddy. The high end is getting dangerously close to being too bright. The vocal sibilance plus reverb is approaching the danger zone. The bottom end sounds fuller and the cello sits nicely.

Better :). The bottom end seems cleaned up and the acoustic guitars are not as thin and crispy sounding, but I'd still prefer them to be a little meatier and brought down a tad, but probably just a personal preference thing at this point. Vocals sound great :).

I like the mix! The reverb is mild but opens up the song giving it a nice ambience. Your high pass (or eq?) on the cello makes it more defined but retains the required drone so familiar/required with that instrument. The rhythm guitars are nicely spaced to the sides and don't interfere with the voice. THe harmony level is good - enough to be heard but not over powering allowing the main vocal to lead.

Wish I could have had a few more of those tasty intro licks. Great mix and stills impresses me knowing the age of the original tracks. I wouldn't change a thing!

joeym,
thanks mate. I'm about to put this one to bed so it's nice that it's an improvement.
Greg_L,
Yep - I tried to tet some brilliance into the mix but because of the sib & verb no de esser I used (& I tried 5) could deal with it pre or post verb. BUT that was what folk asked for after the previous mix so I went for broke & bunged on some BBS Sonicmaximiser. It did the bottom end good but did take the high pretty high. I'll try to EQ a little of the new top away before I say goodnight to it.
heatmiser,
Thanks mate - I pulled the 12s right down & added some meat but it started to flood the mids so had to pull out a little. Compromise - what can one do? Rechelle/Lifelyric did a nice job didn't she?
ido1957,
You're very generous - thanks. Eric did drop a few more lick onto the tack so I might bring them up here & there where a hole appears.
Thanks folks - I'll do a final mix this weekend & hopefully that'll be it. I do want to do a special mix featuring the vocals a little more for LLyrics as well.

What a transformation. Thanks for the opportunity to work with you. I enjoyed our correspondence, and the recording experience with other lyrics & music, besides my own.

Lifelyrics,
Eric here.. long lost co-writer of Whisper. Many thanks for adding your significant talent to our ditty. I loved the harmony vox thanks for that. Hope that we can do some more in time to come. :)

RayC,
Great job on the mix mate.

To all the commenters. Thanks for your input. Lets see what comes next. I have been hardly playing in over 10 years now and not writing much in a lot longer. Already got a project or two on the way. 51 and still learning, isn't life great!

........ so I whispered less softly......... ;)

Eric
