Hello everyone,

I am new in this forum. I thought it is the best place to ask this question. So if it is not, forgive me...

I play electro guitar and intended to record my music. So i downloaded Cubase 4 , bought an 1/8 inc adapter for my electro guitar jack to connect to my mic-in on my sound card. After struggling i managed to get a record with no amphilifier or processor(so without distortion).

Now I plugged my guitar to my processor(Digitech RP70) and my processor to my computer via adapter. And when i use a distortion effect and play rhtym guitar; I get good enough signal for a few seconds but then signal starts to sound like whale sounds. It's quality becomes terrible. If i wait for a few seconds and then start again, it starts to record good quality again, but the same cycle continues. If i do not play with distortion effects, or if i play solos or classic music instead of rthyms, it is very clear recording then.

Also some channels in my processor that uses compressor generally does not produce such problems.

My sound card is: Realtek High Definition Audio, I suppose...
I attached a picture that shows the signal of my recording. It is easily seen that first the signal quality is high but then in the selected area the signal goes down.

Thank you for help :)

I can not offer much in the way of suggestion, but I can report on a similar issue I have with my Digitech RP-7- when I connect it via the effects loop of one of my amps- Fender Champ 25SE- I can not use both reverbs. It causes a squealing sound, not feedback but rather a varying tone- one might liken it to whale songs. I post here because I suspect the culprit in both cases are the Digitech multi-effects processors, so if you can substitute a different-brand processor, the problem may go away.
