The 58 has a metal windscreen / ball designed for singing into. The 57 does not. You'd need a windscreen or pop filter to sing into a 57, which might look funny on stage to be singing into a nerf ball type rig. Or sound funny without that rig. Or I could be wrong.

It's not like they don't overlap just fine, more their general diffrences and features. The 57 can cound cool on vocal just watch out for breath noises for example.
