Until my attic is refinished I'm stuck tracking and mixing in a 10x10 bedroom with high ceilings. (Ceilings are dropped with old acoustic insulation board, but still high.)

Which way would be the best position for monitoring and mixing, 1, 2, or 3?

Nevermind me... :)

ooooh... Okay.

I thought the consensus was it is usually bad to monitor from a corner.

I never even thought about that option.

Someone want to confirm this?

Yeah I'm waiting for someone else to reply to this because I'm not totally sure on this. It was just my gut reaction to the layout of the room. Because you've got the vocal booth opposite to where I drew the mixing position it will eliminate reflections back at you. But again, I'm waiting for someone else to confirm or debunk this.

Don't mix in the corner, lol. I'm guessing at 3.

John Sayer has done drawings of control rooms in corners but there is a good deal of absorption to make a reflection free zone at the listening position. Sonic's idea would be viable if you had enough room to put in some serious absorption and bass traps. That may not be possible for this situation. Booths are great but you can see how they also cause as many problems as they solve. Good luck.

I would say #2 would be your best bet, but facing the wall---not facing the middle of the room.

Ideally, your head would be about 37% the distance from the right wall to the left wall. So, in other words, you'd be facing the right wall, about .... what .... 3 1/2 feet or so from it. (whatever 38% of 10 ft is ... that's why I wish we would go metric!)

That's kind of what I was going off of.
