Hey HR.com!!

I think I am overthinking things too much, but I could use some help...

I just bought an EPS-16 rackmount sampler and a Boss SP-505 which I want to use in conjunction with my DAW. I want to connect my interface so I can sample into both the Sp-505 and the EPS-16+ then, sample them back in to my DAW without pulling a bunch of wires out and reconnecting everything and/or avoid feedback loops.

Could I possibly monitor all units?

How would I trigger all the units via midi with one controller as well?? I am assuming a USB Midi controller won't play nice sending messages to my DAW. SP AND EPS..or just won't work at all via USB + the MIDI din

I can't wrap my head around the topology :(

If I have you right you need to record 4 discrete audio tracks and possible some MIDI data? In addition since we are talking MIDI/ keyboards, very low latency is the order of the day. I know of only one AI sub £250 that will serve, the Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6. This will also give you MIDI ins and outs.

If you are using a desktop PC you could also fit an M-A 2496 soundcard (pretty cheap s/hand and even new if you live in the States). This would give you an additional 16 MIDI channels. Pretty sure you can run a usb AI and a PCI MIDI card but not audio together (you could run them all if you had "clever" software such as Samplitude but not with ASIO drivers)

You might find a modest mixer very useful as well.

Oh! And a rake of DIN to DIN MIDI leads!

Dave.
