Which speaker terminal is better? 1/4" or spring clips?

I am organizing a sound system for a small church. I notice that on some of the speakers there are two types of inputs: 1/4" and spring clips. The amplifier has 1/4" and banana plugs outputs.

Now, I am trying to order some cables. In general, which type of connector would be better to interconnect the amp and the speakers?

Cables run will be under 100 ft.

Please enlighten me with details about their differences also. Thanks.

If your going to be plugging and un-plugging the speakers a lot, the 1/4" connector are better than the spring clips.

agree

i agree with DJL

if this is going to be a permanent installation, use the spring clips on the speakers. IF you are going to move it around, then use the 1/4's, they are a lot easier.

As far as the amps, i have never really heard any difference between the bannanna and the 1/4. However, back in the day, many amp manufacturers recommended the bannannas. I am guessing there is more physical contact between the plug and the jack for a better transfer of current (just a guess)

so, choose one!

good luck
