Hello all,

I have decided to give recording on the PC at home another bash so went out this afternoon and bought some basic hardware as follows :

Soundcard - M-Audio Audiophile 2496
Preamp - ART Tube MP Studio
Mic - Samson C01
And all the appropriate leads etc - Total £150 GBP

I purely want to record me Playing Didgeridoo and then do some simple multitracking , add some effects and maybe a few other percussion instruments which I can then mix down , master and get burnt to a CD for me to sell at festivals where I perform and teach etc.

I am hoping that the setup I have will give me good enough results for this purpose as it does not have tobe anything super fancy.
Anyway the question is, What is the best software to use for my needs that has great quality results but is really easy to use as I am no sound engineer in the slightest.
If I can get some feedback a.s.a.p please so I can order the software and start recording that would be great.
Many thanks to everyone in advance.....Tim :D

Didn't the Interface come with software? You could probably start with that.

I have an old version of Cakewalk Home Studio that I use with my 2496 and they seem to work well together as I'm sure most software would work well with the 2496. Just figure out what your needs and your budget is and find something that meets your requirements. I have used Home Studio for years though without problems of any kind.
