Oh come on guys!

We give folks shit for not using the search function, then when someone digs up an old thread (probably as a result of using said search function) we ask why?

I kind of like seeing old threads come back to life. I can inadvertently learn something I didn't ask a question about.

Did I just end two sentences a preposition with?

I wasn't giving anyone shit - I REALLY was asking what made him look this up! I don't think he used the search function seeing as his question was

"I wonder if that guy sold his Behringer crap on Ebay yet?"

You're right in that I didn't search for this thread; however, the thread was already near the top of the forum list and the six posts just before mine were current. You've made an error.

that's hilarious! you see this time and time again, either the same questions and it reads like an advice column, whereas it would be more useful to take an existing thread with great advice and just get more and more detail. If you have a forum like this- and countless experts- why not just ask for clarification or debate the finer points? Awesome

the search function is no doubt your best friend on sites like this, or hell just to google something like "mid range compressors best performance" etc etc.

You are right. It was late and I skimmed, sorry!

I like and recommend the Tandy MI-557791 preamp for live and studio use.

That's a clever answer... but will the RNP or dmp3 be an upgrade from a 24$ pre?... I don't think so... the ADA8000 is 27$/chan with ADDA and has been a solution for most ADAT users that cant afford an Apogee and an Universal Audio 8 chan pre... use a calculator first, unless you have the big bucks...

good point here, but saving up a bit of extra cash is worth it in my opinion, even if it is a fair bit more cash, haha.

Nah, there is plenty of stuff in between in the preamp market that will be much nicer than the cheapest of the cheapest in many varying degrees.

I think that if one is to pay 500$ for an RNP it is better to get a dmp3 for much less... but you could also save for a 1200$ preamp and actually get into bussiness... API 512 576$... would you compare it with anything below that price point? ;)
