Hey guys,
I'm new to the whole recording scene but i have been experimenting lately and i have decided to buy a multitrack digital recorder. Well my budget it's very big as i am not all that serious i just want to be able to record solos (drums) and record my band to make pilot cd's, listen to what we sound like ect. Bacially just for fun and to play around with. Well i have been looking at two diffrent models that fit my budget these are both second hand but i know they are in perfect condition. They are a.......
Boss Br-8
Roland VS-840ex
I can only afford an 8 track but that is all i will need. However the reson i cant decide between these two recorders is that i simply dont know which is better. The VS-840ex is a little older but it can record 4 tracks at the same time which would be usefull, and it also seems to have all the same basic effects and the 8V tracks as well as having a 250m zip disk as apposed to the BR-8's 100m disk. However. The BR-8 is newer except it looks more like a toy that the VS-840 as it can only record 2 tracks at the same time and also the fact that the inputs say thigns like guitar/bass and vocal mic one vocal mic 2. It seems alot cheaper and more made for fun rather than proper recording. And being a drummer pluging a bass drum mic into an input called vocal mic 1 might not be the best idea this is why i was thinkign the VS-840 might be more sensible. But as i am probably making obvious i dont really know so i am seeking all the help i can get. Thanks guys.
