Which one is the best?

Monitors?

Microphones?

Mixer?

Effects?

Preamp?

Compressor?

Multi-tracker?

Software?

Cables?

Coke or Pepsi?

The drummer from Molly Hatchet, or Deep Purple?

Is anyone else getting sick of this crap? Let me answer all previous inquiries, and all future ones that apply. THERE ISN'T A BEST ONE!!!! What do you like? What sound do you want? What sounds good to you? What can you possibly afford?

For the love of God, no more!! Please!!!

Now don't get pissy people, just having some fun. :)

 Don't blame ya big D, people should do their own research in most of these matters on this forum, rather than relying on others to do it for them.

In all fairness, asking the opinion of others that have a perticular product or have used it in the past is fine, and a good idea. But it's all subjective, which your average novice (and even some experienced engineers too) just don't understand. You own and love a Ford Ranger? What about the new Chevy S-10 you've never driven or seen? Is that better than your Ford? DUH! Go drive them Sparky! :)

Good point, D-Bones, but don't scare new folks away--this is the *equipment and reviews* section, after all. Maybe what we need to do is encourage future folks to set some paramaters: best for what? under what conditions? what price? used for what purpose? At least then there would be some possibility of connecting anwers, subjective though they are, to someone's needs.

To be honest, I've really appreciated some of the helpful equipment tips at this very site.

My two cents, nothing more,

J.

P.S. Just wondering: what's the best website for discussing equipment needs? Anyone know?

There is a best in everything, logically and your taste hinders your judgement so you will never know untill you ask a real expert.

Don't "real experts" have their own perspective too? And isn't THAT subjective? Give me 10 "experts" in one room, and I will give you 10 different opinions on what is the "best" bla bla bla....I think my main point is not getting across. And FYI, I am TOTALLY for helping out the newcomers. We all were as green as a John Deere tractor at some point.
