I was using ME for a long time, but went with w2k on the new computer, and I'm NOT going back..

I have Win 98SE running on 3 machines. This 1.2 Duron/384RAM, 400 K62/256RAM, and a 200MMX/64RAM Laptop.

I have had Win 2K to load on the Duron for quite awhile but have never gotten around to backing everything up to do it.

Windows 3.11
HAH!
Hey Emeric, do you remember the 32 bit version of 3.1 that came out right before win 95? That OS kicked the most ass in my opinion.

2 - 2000
3 - XP
1 - 98

Had to change back to 2000 from XP found some sound stuff will not work with XP yet. 2000 is by far more stable. I have never had to reboot because of a problem. Even on a laptop. The Xp fails to support laptops with sound issues.

XP pro.
I went from 98se to xp pro, haven't looked back.

If it runs it runs. With OS's they either work, or they provide you with lots of problems and don't really work.

I think as long as your gear works with the OS, and you don't install a bunch of crap, you should be going good!

Buggy 3rd party drivers are the bane of any OS.

Except ME. That pretty much sucked all by itself!:p

I am running XP, which seem to be pretty stable for a WIN platform. Always hated Win, though, and wish there'd be more Linux/Unix software for audio. At work I have a Unix machine which has an uptime of more than 3 years (and used daily by a few dozen users)!! Imagine that on any other platform! :-)

My Kingdom for Protools or Logic ported to BeOS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is ME on the list? That OS sucks from what I've seen.

98 is better than ME IMO. 98 is good, it's got its own problems though but doesn't crash as often as what ME does.

As for me, I'll be using Windows 2K.

98SE

It works, its stable and thats all I really need from a DAW.
