I have, at the moment, a Behringer MX8000a (4 band EQ, 2 sweep). but some of the channels don't work, I go hold of some Servisol Super 10 spray (switch cleaner) and sprayed it on the affected areas to see if I could get it working again. I'm waiting for an engineer to get back to me to discuss the problem. if it turns out that I need to take it in for a repair, I'll see. If it costs more than the actual desk to repair it (I've heard that they're not the easiest desk to fix, you have to take the whole desk apart!), then it may be time for a new desk.

I would have liked a Soundcraft Ghost but are outof my price range and possibly too big to fit into my studio. Therefore, I'm thinking of a Soundtracs. I've looked at the spec of the Topaz Project 8, which also 4 band EQ, 2 sweep, but then saw a Solo Logic. I'd like to know if this has the same. I would be grateful if someone could take a close up picture of the channel strip of the Solo Logic. Can anyone assist?

If I remember correctly, the Behringer MX8000a was so close of a clone to the Mackie "8-Bus" mixer, Mackie went to court to stop Behringer from making it! Then came the Behringer 9000 series.

To answer your question, you should provide more info as to your current set-up, what you are recording currently and so on.
Do you need 24 channels? What type of projects have you done and what type of projects do you plan to do in the future? Are you recording into software? Do you use Analog to Digital Conversion and if so, what do you use? Is this single or multiple room studio?
What is your budget for a mixer? etc.

I mainly record dance music as my last four albums have been of this genre. My next three projects will also be dance music plus one will be ambient. I have a reasonable keyboard set-up. I do need 24/48 as I use hardware synths/samplers. For digital recording, the mixer will be connected to an Alesis Multimix 8. The mixer can be no bigger than the Behringer and for a single room in my home. My budget? £600 - £700.
