Seriously Harvey, how do the current crop of Royer/Cole/Beyer
compare to the mighty RCA?
The 77DX is a multi-pattern mic - the others aren't. The Beyers aren't bad, but the Stephen Sank mod improves them. The Coles is a wonderful mic, as is the Royer stuff.
Fletcher sent me the Royer 121 listening CD and that mike sounded so sweet!
P.S. I suppose for a lot of these ribbons you need a pretty quiet mic pre due to their low output....
