I have around 300.00 to spend on a mic and want the best for my money. This mic will mainly be for vocals. I have narrowed down my choices to:

1. Rode NT2 or NT1
2. Project Studio C3 or C1

Unfortunatly, I have not heard any of these mics and there is no where I can go around here that has them. I am currently using a MXL V67 & V63M but feel they will serve a better use elsewhere than on vocals. So I leave it to the jury!! Which would you pic??? Or would you pick one that I have choosen?? Why?

Thanks!!!

For that price range, I'd get an Octava MC-319.Just my opinion. YMMV.

of the choices you gave, the NT1 wont sound as good, the C1 may sound a tad better or worse than the v67 depending on the voice, and the C3 would have to be my choice......

A sign of the end of the world.

HELP!!! The borge has assimilated Gidge and Alan has taken full control.

P.S. You hath Mentioned the c1 and the c3 in the same paragragh. your new name is Spamboy.

and you wonder if he's heard either mic too...outside of Guitar Center or Mars music:D

just giving you a push, Gidge:D

Good sale on GT mics right now. I havent played with any of them though.

i don't think that i've heard of those two mics but what i use is a

nady scm-900 con. microphone. for the price it may seem cheap but it's not even close. i think that i sound be right up there with shure and akg and other mic companys. but any way if you turn the gain up on that mic just anough were it won't disort it will be so loud that you can sing a foot or two away and i will sound great! ofcouse a litte comp. helps.

if you want that mic i know where you can get 2 for $130!
have you ever herd or the music catalog called
"musician's friend"? if not call 18007765173 or go to www.musiciansfriend.com

hope that i helped you!

hmmmmmmmm.........

I hate my NT1. I think it's harsh and I'm getting ready to bail it.

Of the mics you suggested....I haven't heard them but my guess would be the C3 or the NT2.

For MY money, I highly reccomend the AT4033 because I love mine and it sounds GREAT for overheads, vox, guitars and bass cabs. It's very impressive, indeed.

the Nt2 is a good mic aswell, althought i haven't spent that much time with it, ive used it on overheads once in a studio i was producing at, sounded pretty nice. the NT2 can be used in omni aswell i think.
