I want to learn how to play the piano / keyboard and I'm looking for some advice. I know I don't want to buy a piano so I need advice on Keyboards. Here's what I want:

I want the keyboard to be able to plug into my pc. Is there any software (that with the keyboard hooked up) to teach me how to play?? Any advice in general is appreciated. How much I will have to spend, software, brands, etc. Thanks a lot!

Welcome TBird. New Middletown, eh? I grew up in Boardman! My Parents still live there, my Brother lives in Poland, I see them every week:cool:

Yes, there are keyboards that come with software that teaches you to play, but the best way of course is getting a teacher. I would probably start with a Casio/Yamaha type keyboard ($150), make sure you get one with a midi cable included if possible, one that goes tho a joystick port.

You might want to try a cheap cakewalk program www.cakewalk.com , but it is not easy, so do a lot of reading around here, and ask questions, even is some of the old farts yell at you for not using the search button:rolleyes:

Just wondering, how come this thread says zero responses when I have already responded? I fear the Taliban might be behind this heinous act...
