Hi Everybody!

I am a real fan of turntablism and I finally decided to learn it!
As a beginner I just have few questions for you... :)
Since I don't know how to scratch, I really don't want to spend too much money in the equipment, just in case i'm really bad haha
Of course I've already made some research(s) and found some interesting stuff but I prefer to have exterior advices also! :D

Do you have some recommendations concerning the equipment for a beginner like me?

Do you also know something about an object called "Mixfader": Mixfader | The world’s first connected device for DJs
If yes, did you try it and do you think it's cool for beginners???

Thanks in advance for those who will answer and accept to help me! :)

My scratching is very poor - but I use a turntable often for sampling and regularly 'attempt' cuts.

Go for a direct-drive turntable with high torque... Technics 1200/1210's are the favourite among turntablists but that means that even on the used market they ain't cheap... I'd look at Stanton's T62's but if you wanna go cheaper and used there's lots of old direct Gemini's on eBay.

Your turntable arm needs to be fitted with an appropriate cartridge/stylus as well... I'd look at the 'Ortofon OM pro S' as a cheap starting point.

A basic 2-channel 'battle style' mixer such as the Numark M2 should get you going fairly cheaply...

Other than that... Cables - amp - speakers and the records...
