Which B1 deal should I get?

No, I know what the B1 sounds like, and it's what I want. My question was which deal should I get. The B1 is definite, I just wanted to know what other stuff I should get with it. I just ordered the B1 bundle ($145, comes with stand, pop filter, shock mount, gig bag, cord, and mic), and the Audio Buddy ($80).

Sorry, didn't mean to come off sounding prickish, I was just in a hurry to get out the door.
I'm recording vocals (mine and a friends), plus will probably attempt to use it as a drum overhead, and will probably try some other acoustic instruments with it. But mainly, vocals.

My .02,
I've heard that although the Audio Buddy has phantom power, it's not at the full 48 volts and many mics require 48v +- 4v to operate!

I think he'd be way better off getting at least a DMP3 instead... and a better mic... but it's his money.

I actually spoke prematurely. I have ordered the B1, but haven't ordered the Audio Buddy yet, because they were out of stock :) I sent in the order, but they didn't have it and told me they would notify me when they got it. So, I went ahead and cancelled it so that they wouldn't send me one 2 months from now and bill me for it. I probably will go ahead and save up another month of so for the VTB-1 or the DMP3. So, DMP is a better deal than VTB, is that right?

The DMP3 is 2-channels for $199. The VTB1 is 1-channel for $129. Some think the DMP3 is a better pre. Others don't.

B1 & DMP3...

I just purchased this same set-up: a Studio Projects B1 and M-Audio DMP3. Originally, I got the DMP3 from Musicians' Friend for $149.00... one of their Scratch-N-Dent models. Needless to say, Channel A did not work and I had to get a new one for $50 more. Still, for the money, I am having a lot of fun and learning a lot using this set-up (which is good for a newbie). At under $200, I heard the DMP3 is a good bargain for someone with my newbie level of experience. Good luck!
