Where should I put my drums?

I sit on you.
So we've got what you'd call a "music" room at my house. It's full of shelves and your basic musical equipment. Couch, 5-7 guitars, piano, 2-3 amps, PA system, computer, recording equipment, and, of course, a drumset. Every once in awhile I'll re-arrange the whole room. I've tried the drumset in about 3 different places and locations. Each placement had it's own unique sound and resonance, etc. I usually have anywhere from 1 to 4 other guys, mostly playing guitar and/or singing. We've tried moving the PA around, moving amps, etc. Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, or websites that can help me find better, newer placements for my drums and/or practice equipment. Also, I record a lot, and does anyone have any tips about placing the drums somewhere in a particular room to get good ambience and reverb? Just any tips regarding this stuff will be greatly appreciated.

Don't tell me to isolate either, I know that. ;)

I'd set it up like the attached pic. The computer and recording equipment in that bit as the walls are angled more than 35degrees and on the first reflection point will refelct the sound to the couch where it will be absorbed and to the back of the room where the book shelf will act(not great)as a diffuser. The amp behind the couch so the couch will absorb the lower frequecnies from the back of the amp. The drum in front of the book shelf so the bookshelf act as a diffuser but also in the centre so the reflections are the same of both(left and right)sides of the room. I dunno, just a thought.

PS. with the PA speakers like that, they are gonna be dead boomy

Awesome man.....I think I'm gonna try that....I'll let ya'll know the outcome!
Oh yeah, when you say "dead boomy", what exactly do you mean? Also, what if I add another guitar rig and a bass rig? Where should they go?
 
Same place as other amp if they'll all fit behind the couch. Emm dead boomy because they're in the corners. Bass frequencies build up in the corners of rooms, ie if you play music and walk to one corner of the room the music will get very boomy and bassy the closer to the corner you get. So having speakers in the corners of the room will cause a lot more bass to build up, I'm guessing, and make the sound dead boomy and bassy. This should be ok just for practice though. But for recording/mixing, you sould never mix or have you speakers in a corner.
