Hi
I just found out yesterday that mp3.com has discontinued the p4p service
I was actually thinking about using that serive, but now it's gone
Is there any other website that offer the same kind of service as p4p does?
Any comment would be greatly appreciated
Thank you very much

Are you interested in selling you music on your own? I am working on an article that will show you how to do just that. You'll make more money, even with just a few customers.

If you're interested, please post here and I'll mail you a PDF. Hope to have something out by tomorrow.

Hi Thank yuo both for the reply

James, I think you misunderstood what I said
I was looking for p4p program, not p2p
But still, thank you for your help

And David, yes, I'm interested in selling CD on my own
Thank you for the link, but for some reason, the link didn't work
I'll try again

Hey, guys. I just put up a pop up on www.indiebiz.com that will get you this file on how to sell MP3 files.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Hi David
There's another question I'd like to ask you about indiebiz.com
Is there any support for classical music?
Film Score? What kind of support does indiebiz.com have for my piano, string piece?

I compose with my synth and I can print out the score with SX
I would like to have an orchestra play my composition, but I don't know how to start
It would be great if it can be used in concert, or in film
Is there any support for this kind of stuff?

Thank you

Yes, we can definitely help you with marketing classical music...especially if you do live performances. Even if you're just releasing recordings though, we can work with you.

When you break it down, marketing is marketing.

We have a "tip sheet" area of the message board dedicated to listings from film/tv supervisors and others who are in need of music for their film and television projects. Can't tell you how often a request for classical music comes in as that is not up to us, but they do come in on a regular basis and you should be able to get something hooked up during your term at IndieBiz.

 Dooh! :o :D

Something extremely important was missed here. Royalties for the MP3 format due to the owners of the format...

Get ready to be sued if do not not pay these royalties.

P.s. the article David listed is for the PPD (Pay Per Download) model, not P4P (Pay For Play). PPD is where the listener pays for the priveledge of downloading the tune, P4P is where the OMD pays the artist for traffic generated (shares ad revenue generally).

Ogg is opensource, so no problem with royalties. However, not 'everyone' knows how to deal with them yet, nor is there reliable on-demand streaming, or DRM for ogg yet, so you cut your audience by about 90% with it.
