I have my audio interface placed on a shelf on the wall directly opposite my workstation, where I can easily see the red marks on the gain and headphone level knobs. I find this to be a very convenient location, as it is easy to reach and does not take up any desk space. If you are not able to place your audio interface in a location that is easily visible, you may want to consider using an LED lamp with a clamp and gooseneck to direct light onto the front of the interface.
