I bought a bunch of medium picks a few years ago. I have never once in my life bought those flimsy grey ones or the flimsy red ones.

people always borrow/take the mediums and leave their lousy thins at my house.

i have like...3 grey ones, and 2 red ones, and 0 of my mediums. i have one orange pick i got from a friend that said i could keep it.

where do they goooooo???

I have 12 black ones, 3 white ones and 2 red ones.
I am thinking about getting some blue ones. I like the blues.

Funny you mention this. I was walking the dog today and we went somewhere where I hadn't been for weeks. I found one of my picks on the ground..it was a bit weathered. I know it was mine because the type of pick isn't sold in this country, I had to order them in from overseas. Fuck knows how it got there or managed to stay there til I found it again

They go the same place the matching sock goes when you can only find one

Actually that's probably literally true. Look in the nooks and crannies of your washer and dryer.

Somewhere in the Adriatic, there is reported to be the infamous Isle of Missing Picks. Populated by many rare species of flatpicks, thumbpicks, fingerpicks, hairpicks, nosepicks, and the most obnoxious buttpicks. There they live harmoniously in obscure solitude waiting for their rightful owners to claim them.

i just searched every box in the house (just moved a few months ago)

i found one of the ones i liked. the tip was broken though.

found more grey ones..haha.

but i found 2 of these green ones. tortex. i like them a lot.

happiness ensues

Maybe when we die we will get them all back~I bet I've lost a garage full!

Talk about picky... you guys are even picky about what you're picky WITH.

:D

In winnipeg we have long winters, about 7 months of the year the ground is covered in snow, this past spring I found one of my picks in my backyard.

In an unrelated matter I bought a bag of those Ultex picks which are really nice, kind of like Tortex but with a better grip, and everyone stole them from my house.

where DO those picks go???

Good question. I'll lose like five, six, seven picks in a row around the house and then they'll mysteriously and unexpectedly turn up again, one by one.

Your dog ate the pick and pooped it out a long time ago. All of the poop washed away, eventually, making the pick visible again.

This is probably true.

I seem to lose picks when I drop them. After they fall, I look down and they're nowhere. I've spent many hours of my life looking for whever the hell they are. They should make picks with a tiny magnet in them so when they fall, they head straight to your pickup. Of course, this doesn't help the even more problematic acoustic guitar. Getting those out are a pain in the ass, and another topic entirely.

Shit, they end up EVERYWHERE. I find em in the sofa. I find em under the bed. In the dog dish. In my sock drawer. Hell, I was playing with a turd and low & behold, there was one of my missing picks in there.

What?

{{Hell, I was playing with a turd}} LMAO, but so true. We must have the same brand toilet! So smooth....it didn't even bother my hemmorhoids.

Picks are kinda like Bic lighters... lay one down and it WILL find it's way into someone else's pocket.

i always feel that things like guitar plectrums belong to musicians collectively as a whole, not an individual musician. the same goes for drum sticks, trombone slide oil, patch leads, music stands, even microphone stands.

anyone can nick anything, basically, if it isn't tied down. :D

I always suffer the problem of dropping picks and them just vanishing. Most of the time they never show up again. Apart from the one time one showed up in my cup of tea. That was kind of a shock at first, to take a sip of tea and have something flat and trianguar turn up in your mouth....its just not what you expect from a nice cup of tea...

I am an untidy bastard and I know no matter what room in the house I play guitar there will be a pick there, usually several, after 38 years of being married to me the old girl now accepts it as part of our life. I also never throw an old pick away, when I retire and can spend the time I can file them back to a point, which will beat cutting out paper dolls.

Maybe you need to be a little more selective about the people that you let into your house.
