where did the cymbal go?

When I play a midi file in the Chopper I hear cymbal crashes, but when I play back the same thing after it is recorded, the crashes are missing.

I can see the cymbal event on the track, so I figure that maybe the instrument assignment is different than in the Chopper for some reason.

Any ideas?

reselect the channel again and see if it plays (set it to 10)

Thanks for your suggestion.

All of the other drums in the kit (on the same track) sound fine. It's just the cymbals that are missing in the playback.

It doesn't seem to matter whether that track is selected or not. I keep thinking that it has something to do with the midi preferences, like setting the midi through setting for playback differently than I have it. I have tried all of the available combinations (I think), though, with no luck.

I feel like a serious dumb ass
