I know there such thing intended for sound treatment like Auralex, etc. But I think there too expensive. I just want something similar where I can buy in sheet or rolls and just cut it myself. I was hoping I can buy those on Michaels, Officedepot or Homedepot? TY

Also any other alternative besides those Auralex are welcome, like hanging an old matress on the wall, etc... :D

(A) The FF stuff is junk.

(B) Auralex is, by far, the cheapest decent acoustic foam on the market. You've never priced "the good stuff" if you think Auralex is actually expensive.

(C) Mattresses are useless.

(D) Without question, without fail, without exception, you need to handle the low end first. Every time, all the time, absolutely, positively, without a doubt, all the time, etc. Broadband trapping (not foam, not mattresses, not egg cartons) is what you need to start with.

Yeah, that's where you can buy similar stuff for cheap like you asked, but I dont recommend it.

Listen to Massive, he knows his stuff.
From my experience the foam is weird. W/o any trapping and serious treatment it just made my room sound muddier. My old carpet probably had something to do with that too though.

And the foam factory stuff smelled horrible.

So all in all, would you rather spend a few extra bucks on decent Auralex stuff, or get cheaper, not as efficient, smelly stuff that will not really work?

ZING!

Or spend even less money, albeit more time, and build some killer traps yourself :D

And make yourself look like you really know what youre talking about to all your friends and family "yeah yeah roxul blah blah pine wood blah blah corners effective"

Or "yeah yeah acoustic foam"

You can buy Roxul Safe and Sound Mineral Wool at Lowes for $50 a case and make your own.
