for example : mmmm...... CREED - Higher

removing vocals from the song does not let me hear the guitars very well.

Is there any place on internet where i can find just the plain guitar track of a specific song ?

not, karaoke versions, just guitar samples.

That could be useful to compare with my recordings.

Not unless somebody is rerecording those parts for people to learn and I haven't noticed any sites like that. For now your best bet is to listen to the CD with headphones and look for some tabs online.

I have the PERFECT solution for you, well its perfect for me when im trying to learn a song, and with this method you can single out ANY instrument in ANY song, hehehe. Have you heard of a program called Guitar-Pro, if you havent, its a program you can buy(or d/load the demo n just keep reinstalling it, lol) which was designed for people to be able to put their tabs into a neat n tidy program which shows all slides, bends, ho n po etc etc etc, instead of trying to read the dodgy ones off the net. It also allows you to let the program play your tabs (its got built in instrument settings), so you can put your tabs in, and playback what you have entered, take out the drum track, bass track etc etc. Anyway, a wesite called MySongBook, noticed that this had potentiol and created a site where people can upload their tabs(of any songs, just like a site such as TabCrawler) except they are in GuitarPro format, hehe, which means you just have to get Guitar-Pro (http://213.246.36.227/download/GP4Demo.exe), and then go to http://www.mysongbook.com and download the tab file(such as Creed - Higher), takes about 1 second, and the file will open in Guitar-Pro and itl show you the tab all nice n neat, you can play it, slow it down(great for solo's), eliminate all other instruments. IT IS BRILLIANT FOR LEARNING SONGS, enjoy!!!
